Setting Low Stock Alerts

Never run out of your best-selling items again. Foliodia allows you to configure a specific threshold for each product, triggering an automatic alert when it's time to reorder from your supplier.

Overview

A Low Stock Alert sends you an email and a push notification the moment a product's inventory drops to or below your defined threshold.

Before You Begin

Ensure you have configured your Default Notification Email in your global settings so the alerts have somewhere to go.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Navigate to Products: Click on Products in your dashboard navigation.
  2. Select a Product: Click on the product you wish to configure.
  3. Set the Threshold: Scroll down to the Inventory section. Locate the field labeled Low Stock Threshold.
  4. Enter a Value: Type in the minimum number of items you want to have on hand before being warned. For example, if it takes a week to restock an item, you might set the threshold to 10.
  5. Save: Click Save Product.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Supplier Lead Time: Always calculate your low stock threshold based on how long it takes your supplier to deliver new inventory.
  • Global Defaults: You can set a global "Default Low Stock Threshold" in your Settings. Any new product you create will automatically use this number, saving you time.

Common Problems

I hit my threshold but didn't get an email. Double-check your Settings > Notifications to ensure your Default Notification Email is spelled correctly and hasn't ended up in your spam folder.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I get alerted every time the stock drops below the threshold? Foliodia will only trigger the alert the first time the stock crosses the threshold boundary. You won't be spammed with emails for every subsequent sale below that number.
