Troubleshooting Push Notifications & Emails

Foliodia keeps you updated the second a new order is placed or a checkout is abandoned. We use a combination of desktop/mobile Push Notifications and fallback Emails.

Setting Your Default Notification Email

Before relying entirely on push notifications, you should configure a reliable fallback email. Foliodia uses this email for low stock alerts, new orders, and abandoned checkout summaries.

  1. Go to your dashboard and click on Settings in the bottom left.
  2. Navigate to the Notifications tab.
  3. Locate the Default Notification Email field.
  4. Enter the primary email address you check most often.
  5. Click Save Settings.

Note: Any new Product or Form you create will automatically inherit this email, saving you from typing it repeatedly.

Troubleshooting Push Notifications

If you are not hearing the "cha-ching" sound or seeing banners when a test order is placed, follow these steps:

1. Are Notifications Enabled in Your Browser?

When you first log into Foliodia, your browser asks for permission to send notifications. If you accidentally blocked them, you must unblock them:

  • Chrome / Edge: Click the small "lock" icon or "settings" icon next to the URL address bar. Find "Notifications" and switch it to Allow.
  • Safari (macOS): Go to Safari Preferences > Websites > Notifications, and ensure Foliodia is set to Allow.

2. Is Your Device in "Do Not Disturb" Mode?

Push notifications are delivered by your operating system (iOS, Android, Windows, macOS). If your phone or computer is on "Do Not Disturb" or "Focus" mode, the notification will be silently routed to your notification center without waking the screen or making a sound.

3. Did You Install the App?

For the most reliable delivery on mobile devices, we highly recommend installing Foliodia as a PWA directly to your home screen. Browser-based notifications on mobile can sometimes be suspended by the phone to save battery. Read Installing the Foliodia App (PWA) for instructions.

4. Are You Actively Using the App?

If you place a test order on the exact same device and browser window where you are currently viewing the Foliodia dashboard, the system may suppress the push notification because it assumes you are already looking at the screen. To test notifications accurately, keep Foliodia open on your computer, but place the test order from your phone's browser.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I have push notifications on multiple devices? Yes. You can log into your Foliodia dashboard on your laptop, your phone, and your tablet. Each device will request permission, and they will all receive push notifications simultaneously.
