How to Manually Create an Order

Sometimes a customer might walk into your physical store, or message you directly on WhatsApp saying "I'll transfer you the money right now, just send me the shoes." You can manually log these sales in Foliodia to keep your inventory and analytics perfectly accurate.

Overview

Manually creating an order bypasses the public-facing Form. It acts exactly like a normal order—deducting stock when delivered and updating your revenue—but it is initiated by you, the merchant, directly from the dashboard.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Navigate to the Orders page in your dashboard.
  2. Click the + Create Order button at the top of the screen.
  3. Select Products: Choose the product(s) the customer is purchasing.
  4. Enter Customer Details: Input the customer's name, phone number, and address. If they are a walk-in customer, you can just put their name.
  5. Adjust Pricing (Optional): If you gave them a special discount, you can adjust the final selling price manually for this specific order.
  6. Set Initial Status: Choose whether the order is already Delivered, Pending, or Out for Delivery.
  7. Save: Click Save Order.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Instant Delivery: If this was a physical, in-person sale where the customer walked away with the item, immediately set the status to Delivered when creating the order. This ensures your stock drops immediately.
  • Wholesale Tracking: Use manual orders to log large B2B wholesale transactions that didn't go through your standard retail forms.

Common Problems

The manual order didn't update my analytics. Check the order's status. Remember, Foliodia only calculates revenue and profit for orders that are explicitly marked as Delivered.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does manually creating an order send an email to the customer? No. Because manual orders are often used for in-person transactions where you might not collect an email address, Foliodia does not automatically send a confirmation receipt.
