Placing a Test Order

Before publishing your link on social media or launching an ad campaign, it is highly recommended to place a test order. This ensures your offers are priced correctly, the checkout flow is smooth, and your notifications are working.

Overview

Placing a test order simply means pretending to be a customer, visiting your own form, and submitting it. There is no "test mode" switch required because Foliodia does not block real-time payments at checkout—you simply mark the order as "Cancelled" or delete it afterward.

Before You Begin

You must have already created a Form with at least one active Offer.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Copy Your Form Link: Go to the Forms page in your dashboard. Click on the form you want to test and copy its public URL.
  2. Open the Link: Open a new browser tab (or preferably, a private/incognito window) and paste the link to view your form as a customer would.
  3. Select an Offer: Choose one of the product bundles you created.
  4. Fill Out the Details: Enter a test name (e.g., "Test Order"), a phone number, and a delivery address.
  5. Submit the Order: Click the Submit Order button.
  6. Verify Notifications: You should instantly receive an email confirmation and, if enabled, a push notification on your device.
  7. Check the Dashboard: Log back into your Foliodia dashboard and click on Orders. You should see your new test order sitting at the top of the list marked as "Pending".

Tips & Best Practices

  • Use Your Own Email: When entering the test customer details, use your own email address so you can see exactly what the customer receives in their inbox.
  • Delete Afterwards: To keep your analytics clean, you can click on the test order in your dashboard and select Delete. Deleting an order removes its data from your total revenue and units sold metrics.

Common Problems

I didn't receive a push notification when I submitted the test. If you placed the test order on the exact same device and browser where you are logged into the Foliodia dashboard, the push notification might be suppressed because you are actively using the app. Try testing from your phone while checking the dashboard on your computer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will a test order deduct my inventory stock? No. Foliodia only deducts stock when an order is explicitly marked as "Delivered" in the dashboard. Since your test order will remain "Pending" (or you will delete it), your inventory remains accurate.
